Cause of disease:
Sickle cell anemia is caused due to deficiency of iron in the body which results in change in the shape of red blood cells.
How it occurs:
Red blood cells are flexible due to which they can easily pass from the delicate tubes called capillaries. When they change their shape from the normal pattern, they may clog in the capillary tubes and cannot from it. Due to this blockage of capillary tubes oxygen cannot pass through the tubes properly
