Yes, the teachers privacy rights were violated. Intrusion upon seclusion is one of four torts that is recognizes privacy and protects that invasion of one privacy (Bellas & Ellison, 2014). In this particular case Intrusion upon seclusion applies to case for number or things; first the employees were not informed that facility is monitored, second, the office is a shared upon multiple teachers not just the on suspected of stealing, and third because of the location of the camera that capture changing of teachers and possibly students (Walsh, 2013). The changing of clothes is truly private and very offensive to a reasonable person to record and monitor employees changing clothes; even if this was not the intent of installing the camera.
