What´s Cat Eye Syndrome?

Cat eye syndrome is rare condition that is caused by the short arm of short section of the long arm, 22 chromosomes being present three or four times instead of usual two times (usually three times). Other names of this syndrome is called felon eye because the person eye is close to a cat’s eye. What causes this disorder, the marker chromosomes in some body cells (mosaicism) and, in some instances, manifest certain,possibly mild features of this disorder. Are there prenatal test for this disorder? Maybe. Suspected before birth, based upon specialized tests, test: ultrasound, amniocentesis,and/or chorionic villus sampling (CVS). cat eye syndrome can not be treated, the only cure is surgery the way for this syndrome to be prevented is surgery, if you don’t want to take the surgery the person takes many pills. …show more content…
This individual person can have children but it would only affect the person with the syndrome. There is no cure but researchers are trying to examine a way to find a cure in the future to help cat eye syndrome, the researchers are aiming to examine emotional adjustment, memory, and brain structure. Cat eye syndrome is hard to battle because researchers are finding a cure and the individual has to take many pills if they don’t want surgery or if they don’t want to take pills they have no choice but to have surgery.
