Duty And Destiny Short Story

Some people claim that there are many forces at work in this world that shape our lives. They go by many names, fate, luck, god or gods, chance. Any or all of these things could play a part in our lives. Some claimed that none of those things existed and that life was just one random even after another. For Jules, she had found that her life had been dictated by two main forces: duty and destiny. It was her duty to care for her family’s ranch, it was her duty to one day become the owner of it and inherit all that her father had worked for. For a long while Jules had also thought that this was her destiny as well. The older she grew, however, the more she began to realize that perhaps her destiny wasn’t at this ranch, perhaps it was somewhere just beyond those northern hills. God knows she tried to fight that feeling, that itch in the back of her mind. But soon that itch became and ache, then a throbbing pain to escape this place that would drown her in duty, but never allow her to dream of her destiny. …show more content…
