One alternative, the office space, serves to provide a great source of revenue while the other alternative, community center, serves as a great option for building a high quality of life. However, based on the information currently present, we could express availability biases by choosing the office space because it provides a more secure route than the community center. While the community center will cause more of tax payer’s money and would not be able to generate money right away or at all for the community, the office space would provide an immediate source of revenue. In choosing to build an office space, the community can generate great revenue from renting out the office space and some of the spaces can be reserved to organizations that would improve the community member’s way of life. For instance, office spaces could be rented out to doctor’s office, dental office, weight doctors, or other health professionals that could help improve the community’s quality of life. The two-point we should be careful not to make a decision such as this is overconfidence bias and randomness error. Being over confident will prevent us from seeing the greater picture of fulfilling the goals of the community. Being overconfident in our decision will limit the openness of being able to accept other opinions and views from others. We must also be careful not to make a random error and assume that community members will use all of the services provided by the office space, and this is very much as a possibility if we wrongly stereotype them.
