1. In what ways does your agency make accommodations for clients who have either a physical and/or mental disability?

Pro-Act has volunteers/members that are available to assist those in need. If there isn’t any members available a staff member is always available to assist any individual that is unable to utilize the organizations resources by themselves.

2. In what ways does your agency make accommodations for clients who have limitations of vision or hearing?

As previously stated, Pro-Act has volunteers/members that are willing to assist. Example: There is a member that is blind and is active and involved on a couple of committees with Pro-Act. When she attends meetings and group she is accompanied by another volunteer/member. During meetings she normally records what is going on because she’s unable to take notes. I have sat in on a couple of meetings with this individual and she always ask permission before recording any of the sessions.

3. In what ways does your agency make accommodations for clients who are not fluent in English?

Pro-Act has some staff that is fluent in other languages other than English. This has proven to be helpful in many instances. Pro-Act has a group that meets once a week Latinos in recovery and if the group leader is unavailable to attend the staff member is able to run the group.
