One of the previous South Korean study revealed that students in serious relationships tend to use cell phones more often while students in weak relationships tend adhere to instant messaging (Luo, 2014, p. 146). According to Luo and Tuney (2015, p. 671), positive messaging could be one of the factors that positively affects romantic partners. However, Brody and Peña (2015, p. 500-501) found important to observe how natural maintenance of relationships vie messages correlates with satisfaction in both romantic relationships and friendships. To measure satisfaction, all researchers used scales, but the scales varied as well as the circumstances under which the surveys were conducted. Hendrick’s (1988) Relationship Assessment Scale seems to be a common tool to determine relationship satisfaction in three different studies. For instance, Luo and Tuney (2015, p.672) used this method to survey participants about their satisfaction before and during the study while their partners completed a questionnaire only after the experiment was completed in order to observe how the results differentiate from those obtained from their significant others. As well, McGee (2014, p. 410) applied two different scales: one of them being Hedrick’s scale (1988) and the other Kansas Marital Satisfaction Scale (1983). Another research conducted solely by Luo (2014, p. 148) questioned participants by using the same scale for the dependent variable. However, Brody and Peña (2015, p.502) used two different scales: Likert-scale as well as Huston, McHale and Crouter (1986) marital satisfaction scale to measure how happy or unhappy participants felt about their relationships for the last two months. This method appeared to be common as Shade et al. (2013, p.322) used Likert-scale as well. Contrastingly, the last analyzed research implemented another technique which they thought
