Rosa Parks was sitting in the first row for coloured people on the bus. There was no more seats left in the “white” section. The bus driver then told her and three others to move back, so the white people didn’t have to sit with the blacks. Rosa refused to move and got arrested. Rosa went to court and was found guilty and was fined $14.
Rosa then had to overcome personal and financial hardships. She lost her job as a seamstress. She faced threats to her family and people who supported her because they didn't believe in her cause.
