I believe it was, some historians believe that it was really just continuation of WWI, however, like all historical events it is hard to say what would have happened. WWII was about a lot more than increasing Germany’s territory or promotion of the Aryan Race. Hitler’s main motivation for becoming the leader of German was to restore respect of the German people after WW1, which he fought in. Over time he became more anti-Semitic and blamed the Jews for Germany’s loss (although he still maintained some Jewish friends oddly enough). Germany wasn't the only cause of WWII, Italy and Japan had their own reasons for wanting to gain power (Japan was already at war with China), France was a major advocate of getting Germany to pay for their losses
