Colonial-Early Republic:
• Frontier conflicts and Border security: o During the colonial- early republic era there were external threats. During the Native American warfare, War of 1812 and 1916 Mexican Edition frontier conflicts and border security was seen as a problem. The Native Americans and settlers were having conflicts over the frontier. Because of the conflicts, it caused militias to be involved. After the War of 1812, it showed there was a need for more border security. Since there was a need for more border security it resulted in the federal coordination to provide security. Just like present time in the U.S, it was the start of keeping the borders safe and people who were not welcomed
