The movie "Coach Carter" was a very inspirational and dramatic movie. The movie explained how in a low class neighbourhood, high school student struggle to succeed academically, but do well in basketball. As a result, Coach Carter took some serious actions to help the team balance academics with basketball. I agree with Coach Carter's idea to lock up the gym because I believe that education should always come first. The team can't succeed in life with just basketball skills. They also need good academic skills too. In addition, what the coach does to gain the respect of the players is explain to them why he did the lockout by telling the statistics of how likely they are to end up in jail.
