In high school, I volunteered for an organization which advocates for increased educational and occupational opportunities for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am also into politics and social justice and campaigned for Hillary Clinton and have attended organized protests, including the March for Science in Washington, D.C. and a local protest in support of DACA. I also come from a fairly diverse family and attended what was recognized as the most diverse high school in the state of Connecticut. I enjoy working with people of all backgrounds as I was raised in a diverse, accepting environment.

I am also inspired by people who have effective time management skills, as this encourages me to use my time more wisely and to be more organized.

Two things that would have a significant positive impact on my life would be if I completed all of my work for the week and if I could see my dogs. As it is midterm season, I have been devoting a great amount of time and energy toward completing my work. Although I am not necessarily stressed, I will be happy to have more free time once the midterm break comes. Secondly, I live over a thousand miles from home and miss my dogs. Seeing my dogs would make me incredibly happy.

A veteran to me is a patriotic, unselfish, brave, and courageous person, who would sacrifice time from their families to serve and protect our nation. As Jeff Miller once said, “The willingness of America’s Veterans to sacrifice for our country has earned them our lasting gratitude.” Veterans from every country have served throughout many wars. They have put their blood, sweat, and effort into doing the right and beneficial thing for their nation. Being a veteran means not only to serve in the military, but it means to have the selflessness and courage to go off to war to ensure the freedom of the nation.…

While growing up in a military family, my family and I have had to move around the country many times. Because of our itinerant lifestyle, I was exposed to many different cultures and varieties of people. Due to this exposure and the necessity of relating to others, I believe I have been prepared to work well with people who are different from me. A person’s religion, sexual orientation, or ethnicity should have no bearing on their ability to accomplish a task that I have been charged with overseeing. I believe having strong connections to my Native American and Mexican heritages and backgrounds has helped me to become more comfortable while working with others that are different.…

Empathy, courage, tenacity, and discipline are all defining character traits that make us who we are. An individual's character speaks volumes for what they are doing, and what they will accomplish throughout their lives. Therefore, I feel it is only appropriate to discuss one of the strongest aspects of my character—my fervent drive to seek and encourage diversity in my community through leadership and volunteering. Through diversity, we can all work together to make the world a better place. One of my worst fears in life is finding myself comfortable in conformity.…

Helping others is something that has always interested me, the person whose job you will be reading about is someone who is very strong with her work and someone who puts other people before them. For my research project I researched personal training and how I could become successful and use my passion for fitness as a means of supporting myself whilst traveling Australia, I learned how to become a personal trainer and the processes I would have to go through to become qualified. By achieving my goal I hope to be able to demonstrate evidence of my capability to grow personally and professionally. I had difficulty defining a question that relates to success as a personal trainer (PT) which incorporates travelling around Australia. In hindsight, trying to put the two together was probably a mistake as they are two very distinct things that will need to happen at different times. For example, only after becoming an accredited trainer…

Most college students, including myself, have a part-time job around their school schedule. Some students have a job just for extra spending money but I have always wanted jobs that might provide relevant work experience when I exit college. They told me I would be going out to potential client’s homes, work or available places to meet and signing them to a contract to representation by the firm.…
