Man Eater! The hit song Man-Eater performed by musical artists Hall and Oates lyrics exemplifies and illuminates infamous lesbian prostitute and serial killer, Aileen Wuornos. Wuornos robbed and lured seven men to their death! Likewise, the occurrences of murders committed by serial killers have surpassed levels shocking the world, and society can only imagine the magnitude of victims gone unreported. A female serial killer to be specific, because of the environment of the crime scenes. Subsequently, during the investigation, police released sketches of two women seen by the abandoned car of murdered victim Peter Siems, and his stolen items were recovered from a pawn shop with Wuornos’ fingerprints. Eventually, she was charged with seven murders of men who had solicited her for a sexual encounter because of the similarity of the crimes. For that reason, it is both surprising and important to acknowledge that according to research on serial killers, Wuornos challenges both spectrums of a serial killer, male and female. For example, Wuornos cited previous sexual abuse in conjunction with self-defense as the motive for killing seven men in the span of a year during a sexual encounter. Wuornos claimed they raped her (Johnson)! Unfortunately for her victims, these two factors dominated Wuornos psyche, and generated a negative and predatory worldview of all men. So, it is common and understandable that engaging in prostitution was an effect of the early sexual abuse that Wuornos endured. More than likely, each one of her victims in her mind was replicative of the sexual abuse she had undergone as a young girl.
