What traditions do you have for Thanksgiving? When Thanksgiving comes to mind, people often think of pilgrims and the Native Americans. However, Thanksgiving was created to give thanks to God for all of the things he has given us, by President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War. It is a way for families to come together and give thanks. However, the way that families celebrate the holiday differs from family to family. This essay will showcase these differences between our families. One of the greatest features of Thanksgiving, in my opinion, is seeing your family, especially when you don’t have the opportunity to meet them often. It is always an enjoyable experience conversing with those you don’t meet on a regular basis, your relatives in particular. This is one of the elements that can differ from family to family. For example, I celebrate it with my mom’s half of the family. However, some families might have their entire family over, or possibly nobody at all. Maybe you travel to other’s houses, or maybe you invite others over. I always travel to my relative’s houses, the reason being that they’re houses are larger and more suitable for more people.
