The thought of driverless cars running freely on the roads is both exciting and terrifying. Like it or not, most of us surely heard that driverless cars are a new technology which becomes a reality. In Eric Biba’s Newsweek article, “What The World Look Like Without Drivers”, he predicts how our lives will change as people start to give up their personal vehicle for the benefit of driverless ones. I agree with the author that driverless cars will be convenient and will benefit to our lives in the future. Driverless cars improve safety and decrease traffic death, and may bring bad effects to insurance industries and job markets; also, the driverless cars are helpful to relieve to traffic flow. Giving up control of our cars, and letting do the same thing; as cars gain more autonomy, the driver's roles will become more like a passenger’s. Sometimes, it sounds difficult to make people feel comfortable. The fact is, human beings are not the most reliable drivers, they can get tired then make mistakes, or even be under influence of drunk or alcohol. However, the robot may do better than human brains. No matter what the people doing while drunk, texting, speeding, lack of experience, or have slow reaction times. Driverless cars will change this situation. They know how to do stop for pedestrians walking. Therefore, the cars will always be better prepare in advance for a variety of issues encountered in non-automatic drivers. All in all, driverless cars will do better than people because they will provide safe for all people.
