What The American Dream Mean To Me

What is the American Dream? What is the American Dream? Does it only apply to immigrants or people that were born in the US? Who created the dream? Is it different than the original meaning? There are so many questions and unknowns about the American Dream. But all we know it's something we should aspire to do or be. However, the dream has changed more than ever. I believe that the American Dream has transformed itself to everyone’s liking. What I mean by this is that everyone has a different perspective of it. What the original Dream consisted of a two-parent household, one mother, and one father. Who has kids, a dog, and lives in a house that is located in a beautiful neighborhood with a white picket fence. This is also your chance to get a better education or a job. Having somewhere to rest and not be afraid of the war that’s going on in your backyard. Or being able to get a better education for yourself. So far the American standard family is almost not standard anymore. There’s a lot more single parent households. You can even find same-sex couples now being able to have a family of their own, without judgment, well sometimes. Now one thing that hasn’t changed is that every man is equal. When in all reality we are not. You’ll still be judged on your race, sex, religion, and sexuality. Immigrants are now coming over to escape a world of pain or fear.
