What Role Does Athena Play In The Odyssey

“In The Odyssey by Homer it is evident that the greek gods and goddesses have a role in the everyday life of the epic hero, Odysseus.’’ In the Odyssey Odysseus goes on a really long and interesting trip because of a god named poseidon . He does not have the ability to be grateful in the beginning but towards the end his bad ways fall apart. He makes an error but learns from his mistakes.

In the Odyssey it is evident that the goddess Athena helps odysseus because she tells Hermes to deliver the message to tell Calypso let Odysseus go. She tells Hermes to tell Calypso that it is a message from Zeus. This helps Odysseus by giving him the chance to escape Calypso’s island. Athena also helped him because Calypso was keeping Odysseus
