Do you know what makes people unique? An individual’s personality makes them unique from other people. It includes all of the patterns of thoughts and emotions that cause us to do and say things in particular ways. The environment influences all the people in different ways. It changes a person’s personality, mental health, behaviors, and child development. It was a beautiful sunny day in August, my mom told me and my sister that we are going to China. I was so excited to take the airplane for the first time in my life. As a 10-year-old girl, the curiosity was larger than the tension. My sister and I said goodbye to our father and promised to see him next summer vacation. He couldn’t go with us because he had a job in Korea, and my mom is a math tutor so she could teach Korean kids in China. My father picked me up and hugged me tightly. At that moment, the only thing in my mind was excitement of taking an airplane and goes to somewhere new that I have never gone before. We had to wait for one hour to get into the plane. I kept looking at the clock, but the time went so slow. One minute seemed like one hour to me. I got on the airplane and for two hour flight; I watched a movie while eating snacks that a pretty stewardess gave me. I bet none of the 10 year old kid study this much during the summer vacation. Part of the reason was to get ready for the school. Another difficulty was that the teacher was a local Chinese, so I had a hard time communicating with her. She told us what a Chinese word means in English, or described it by drawing or acting. This was so much different with what I expected when I arrived in China. I expected to travel around Beijing; go to see the Great Walls and eat famous Chinese food.
