A lesson is something you learn from a certain situation. Learning something is hard, but easy at the same time. A lesson from a random elderly is different from learning a lesson from a loved elderly. My grandmother decided to sign me up for a recreational basketball league because I loved basketball so much. “SWAY!!!”, my grandmother called, “It's time for practice.”. “YES MA’AM”, I called back. As I hurried out the house, I grabbed some shorts and a shirt along with my new basketball shoes that my mom ordered for me while she was …show more content…
I fell asleep last because I was still nervous about the game. I watched basketball on YouTube so I wouldn't think about my game as compared to LeBron’s game that night. I thought about going outside to put some shots up but it was already 1:00 in the morning and I didn't want to get into any trouble. As I dosed off into a deep sleep I had deja vu about the game but I couldn't remember what it was when I awoke. “SWAY!! WAKE UP IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN THAT GAME TODAY!!”, my grandmother called out loud. I woke up and dashed into the room and grabbed my jersey off the bed and slipped on my lucky shorts and basketball shoes as I bolted out the house. Have you ever heard a 2-year-old child suddenly shout out a football chant when they were that age and had no clue what it meant? If you haven't, you will be surprised to learn that I actually did that when I was that age. It was in December 1999 when my family had decided to go up to Pennsylvania to visit our relatives for the holidays. I wasn’t much of a talker at that time. As we were arriving at my Aunt Priscilla and Uncle Jim’s house, I sat quietly playing with one of my favorite stuff animals, a beanie baby named piggie.…

Coming to Carleton in September I thought I had a decent grasp on general business know how and how business worked, but after taking this course I have learned how little I knew, and how much there was for me to learn. So far in the course I would say I have learned a ridiculous amount, from business language to the skills you need to have a successful interview. In this memo, I will be covering a number of lessons I have learned, and these fall into three categories. The first being what I learned from the course, mostly what I learned in lectures and doing Learnsmart questions. These lessons have been predominantly the knowledge I have acquired through the professor and the textbook.…
