What is the American Dream? It has many different definitions to many different cultures,people, and even your family members. It has evolved over the decades constantly adapting to the world. This dream is what makes America so enticing and desirable. It has many different terms for success which makes it all the more available. But, unfortunately with the growing financial gap of the rich and poor the chances for success are very slim. Mr.Spruill has had the ability to fulfill his dream ,and has become a successful career as a pharmaceutical representative. His story is not like many but his journey is very interesting.
On May 7,1963 Bill Spruill was born in New Haven,Connecticut to William and Edith Spruill. Growing up he was supported by a cast of people from all walks of life using their experiences and ways of approaching obstacles. He would learn these traits from watching these people go through the day performing tasks and having the skills to achieve them. Mr.Spruill makes it clear when he said talked about his experience “This freedom allowed me to create my own perspective and definition of success.”He attended St.Rita School in Hamden,Connecticut where he excelled at english. Through his formative years his grandparents were a huge inspiration to him on achieving the American Dream. Both of his grandparents immigrated from the island of Nevis in the West Indies in the early 1900s. Through hard work they were even able to purchase a home, which was very uncommon…
