What makes Thanksgiving American? It is only celebrated in America. It was created as a day of giving thanks for being blessed with the harvest of the season. It is an important
American culture because it has been celebrated in America since 1621, and was declared a national holiday by President Lincoln in 1863. From generation to generations we have all celebrated Thanksgiving in a same way, with a turkey feast. As Americans we need to keep this culture alive and celebrate year after year. Since Thanksgiving is a national American holiday, now Americans thinks of Thanksgiving as a time to celebrate being on vacation from school or a long weekend from work.
