The British naturalist and politician John Lubbock wrote, "your character will be what you yourself choose to make it".Othello is a tragic hero.The antagonist Iago is the vengeful villain in the story.Opponents incorrectly think that character choose their own traits.Although characters will be what you choose to make it, it should be known that characters cannot control their own traits. First, emotions because a character is full of emotions and anger.Anger is when you have a lot of rage in you.For example, when Othello slaps his wife in front of everyone.This proves 's Othello can't handle and control his emotions.Another reason is love because love is expressed thru out the book.Love is an intense feeling of warmth and attachment.For example, Othello goes behind Brabantios back and marries Desdemona.This proves Othello was influenced by the love Desdemona showed him.The final reason is sorrowful because character sometimes feels sympathy.Sorrowful is when you feel guilty about something.For example, when Othello found out the Iago manipulated him into strangling Desdemona.This proves that Iago made Othello feel sorrowful for what he did.
