He even said “I nominate this shank to replace me as Keeper of the Runners” this shows that he could accept the fact that Thomas was a better Keeper than himself. Minho is mentally strong because avoids resenting the success of others, and does not give up after failure. Even after all the times finding nothing in the maze he still tries to find the way out. Minho does not go out of his way to please others not even their leader Alby. He proves this when he and Thomas tricked the Grievers into jumping off the cliff. One other major thing to prove that he is even more mentally strong is being a runner. Being a runner has many risks, there is always a chance of getting killed whenever you're in the maze. When he stayed the night in the maze with Thomas and Alby it showed that he would rather risk his own life to save Alby than leave him and be safe in the Glade. He also has to run out into the maze everyday and risk his life to find a way out.
Even after all the years Minho, and the boys spent in the Maze trying to find a way out, he is still patient, and does not expect to find the exit immediately. Not expecting immediate results is another thing that adds to Minho being mentally strong. Minho does not expect immediate results in much anything, and is a relatively patient person. Minho does not expect immediate results when he has to compare the maps and does not expect to find the way out

Reading this article, has given me lots of new information and knowledge about how different things were back in the day.
