What makes Marie Curie outstanding is the fact that she is the only person to win two nobel prizes in different fields of science and the first woman to win one too. Most of her research and discoveries were with her husband. Together they discovered the elements: Radium and Polonium. Both of those elements were found in pitchblende. Pitchblende is basically a rock but it has a bunch of elements in it including Radium and Polonium.
