NFL Greatest Running Backs
Running Backs in the NFL show great abilities on why they are one of the most important player or position or player on the field. Creating big plays during games, becoming playmakers and dominating the playing field combined with the ability to show power, great energy, and strength is what makes great running back. Running backs use their qualities to get out of trouble situations during games. Most running backs are known for their speed, one of the most important trait of a RBs, and some use it much better and smarter than others. Another player would be Adrian Peterson. His speed helps him give time for the quarterback to throw the ball. During a pass play he has to beat a rushing defending at the line of scrimmage coming from any gap before he makes it to the QB. This makes him a great running back because he gives his QB time by using his speed into a defender to bounce him back for second or two so he can support the team on pass block for QB to spy someone out on the field to gain yards. Last is Devonta Freeman, short but speedy RB. He uses his speedy during a pass plays, when he's given a route usually for him or a backup route, he accelerates right after the catch to gain either short or big yards. They are more aware of the surroundings and having more reflex for what to come. RBs in certain situations can juke or spin out a defender to give them a better look for more yards. An example would be Barry Sanders, one of the greatest running backs to ever live. His awareness was fantastic, he was able to get around defenders, juke and also watch for anyone coming from any side of him. This made him a great Running back with awareness because of his great vision, he was able to make big plays and gain a lot of yards for his team. Also getting over one thousand five hundred yards in every season he played in. Another running back is Todd Gurley, for the Los Angeles Rams. He became Rookie of the year last year because of the amount tackles in a game were insane. He was able to gain many yards for over the season to help get them some wins. This shows he is a good running back because any way he chooses to run with the Rams line, he was aware for what to come from any side, so it was usually a big gain for the team. Last is David Johnson, for the Arizona Cardinals. When the noticed his QB was having trouble looking for a target, he first watched to make sure no rushers are coming and ran out the back field for an extra target. This makes him a great RB because he’s able to watch around for his QBs protection and then run out in open space for some
