Thank you for your post. Erin Brokovich was an excellent example of a leader found in popular culture. Your description of Erin portraits a woman who exudes determination. This sense of determination possessed by a leader is defined by Northouse (2013), as “the desire to get the job done [which] includes characteristics such as initiative, persistence, dominance, and drive” (p.25). I believe that this description fits Erin Brokovich to a tee.
I appreciated that you chose a leader who had such compassion and drive. Northouse (2013) attributes these characteristics to an individual who uses “authentic leadership”, whereby they “understand their own values and behave toward others based on these values” (p.259). Erin’s passion stemmed
