One thing that makes college hard is moving away from the familiar settings of home. Everything that one comes to know becomes obsolete, a distant memory. Always being one step away to help, parents are also incapable of helping their child as they are cast out into the world to become who they are meant to be. For some students, they don’t know how to function without parental guidance, making living on their own a challenge. It takes time to adjust to new surroundings and situations; it doesn’t help that Calculus work is being thrown into the mix at the same time, either. …show more content…
The amount of credits that must be meet for graduation can be absurd, depending on the college. Students must stay up for hours on end, doing work for classes that aren’t even related to their majors. Also, it's often said that people develop a taste for coffee in college, making anything with caffeine a must-have substance. Having to be a creature of the day and the night can easily justify the need for coffee and energy drinks.
All in all, college isn’t the easiest thing to accomplish in life. With the long nights and the large amount of work, some question if college is even worth. Despite all of the hardships, at the end of the day, students receive quality educations in the fields that they want to learn about. As long as the students enjoy jobs in their fields of study, they will think back on all of the coffees and energy drinks, and not regret a thing about any
