More and more teens are beginning to think that this will be the solution that is going to make them more beautiful. There are other reasons for the increase in surgeries, but this happens to be one main reason. Plastic surgery can be harmful and put many teens in a dangerous situation, so why are so many teens choosing to be put under the knife? Stated by Dr. Holmgren, “Teens seek plastic surgery due to some insecurities they feel about the way they look; they think it will fix whatever is ‘wrong’ with them. The people in this world have begun to allow society’s opinions on beauty, which create a bad sense for some, so they try hard to become the image of beauty that society gives an individual. Having “plus size” models should help the women in society feel like they are perfect, too. Being strong and fit is beauty as well, for there should be more models that look like that rather than just tall and skinny. Last but not least, the numbers of surgical procedures may reduce if society did not define beauty how they have been for years, but if they used a diversity of models that would give the women in this world more confidence. Whether or not an individual is a size zero or a size 16, size should not matter, right? Everyone is
