What Makes An Effective Leader?

When one thinks of an effective leader, many traits come to mind. One characteristic that an effective leader needs to have is bravery. If a leader is not brave then the people of his kingdom will not be confident enough in his decisions. If his people don’t follow him, then his kingdom will fall apart. Also if the leader is brave in battle then his army will follow him. Two other traits that an effective leader needs to be are smart and ambitious. A leader has to be smart to manage an empire because if he makes bad decisions then the empire could fall. He also has to be ambitious so that he can add land and make the empire greater and wealthier. A fourth trait of an effective leader is that they have to be organized. Without organizing their empire chaos will arise creating opportunities for barbarian tribes to attack. A final out of many traits a leader should be is resourceful. He should be resourceful because then he could make allies, trade better and produce more items which all ends up making the empire richer. …show more content…

Martel had a son named Pepin who defended the pope when a people named the Lombards threatened him. He then donated the land he had gained to the pope.
