Reflective Essay: What Is A Victim?

If I were to ask a crowd full of people what is a victim, what would be most results? Most likely something similar to someone being harmed or killed due to a crime or incident that had occurred. What not many people understand is that words can be used in multiple scenarios can be used in many different ways. I was first actually introduced to the word when I began watching one of favorite shows “C.S.I Miami”. This show was mainly about murders occurring in the city and the main characters/detectives were responsible to find out who was the person behind them. When I am completely stressed out my mind starts to go out and begin thinking to myself all the wrong things that may happen creating all these terrible scenarios in my thoughts, I realized I am a victim of my own thoughts. I beat myself down causing even more stressed about being stressed out. There isn’t always someone else that one may be arguing with, sometimes it’s within ourselves. This occurs with everyone, hasn’t there been a time where you’re arguing with yourself and your head is winning? It may sound crazy or impossible, but it’s done almost every single day. Sometimes it may be caused by people, but that’s not all. Victims may be those who are in a fight with illnesses or diseases. Many patients are fighting against cancer right now in this very moment; they are victims of this illness. Not only does it have to be patients that already suffer from different diseases, but we are all in danger of catching them which is the reason for parents and children get their vaccines, flu shots, because we are victims of having these types of diseases that may or may not injure us, and will do anything in order to avoid them from causing any
