What Makes A Personal Hero?

A hero is brave, has courage, and honest. A hero is someone that is willing to put his or her life at risk in order to help others. A Hero is also someone that is willing to go through hell in order for his or her loved ones to keep moving on. For example a police officer is someone that on a daily basis puts his or her life at risk. They risk leaving their family alone if they were to die. Its things like this that makes a hero. Another example is a mother that doesn't eat just so that her kids can eat without worrying about being hungry. A mother that doesn't do anything personal in order for her kids to go well dressed to school. Those are the two things that I feel make a hero. For a police officer I feel like the forces that push them are both external and internal. Sometimes having the feeling of helping others simply gives one a good feeling. On another note, the police officer might feel that by protecting his neighborhood, he is protecting his family. For a mother her kids are something that she must love no matter what. This feeling is internal and they want nothing but the best for their kids.

First of all, it’s because of her that I have this drive to finish school. She has also gave so much for me and by siblings that I’m inspired to pay her back in some way. Whether that is by paying her mortgage off, or by helping her in some way that I see in the future, my plans will not change. My hero has molded my actions because I was taught and shown right from wrong at a very young age. This made me be a better man, and one day the best officer that I can be. I don't want to say I’m going to honor the example that my hero has done for me, but I will say my kids will be raised in a very similar way. Why?
