What makes an American Dream? Living in the U.S. everyone has a different dream of being successful. Many of us were told to work or go to school if you want to become successful. The majority of us dream of success as having a big beautiful home located in the suburbs, expensive vehicles, and many materialistic things. Some Americans believe that success is furthering their education level, having a good career, having the ability to support their families, and overall having a secure lifestyle. I recently watched a video clip on YouTube of Buffett describing how he won the “Ovarian Lottery” and I read a quote from his biography called the “The Snowball”. In his biography Buffett says, “I’ve had it so good in this world, you know. The odds were fifty-to-one against me being born in the United States in 1930. I won the lottery the day I emerged from the womb by being in the United States.” In my estimation I believe there 's a chance of one out of ten Americans to win the “Ovarian Lottery”. I understand that living in America can seem quite fortunate to others than living in any country like Afghanistan but not everything is perfect in America. Americans have so much problems to deal with when it comes to money and health, we are being dealt with debt, numerous diseases, bankruptcy, murders, etc. Warren Buffett doesn’t seem to notice the way Americans are being neglected because he’s rich and doesn’t really have any concerns to worry about because he’s financially taken cared of for the rest of his …show more content…
Everyday, I feel that I’m getting stronger by preparing myself to reach the top of becoming part of the American Dream.. I’d rather take the challenging route of my American Dream than the Ovarian Lottery because I would want to work hard for my wants and needs so that I could learn from my wrongs than to already have the money and be unhappy.
