Drinking Water In Third World Countries

When attempting to come across a potential topic about something that can actually make a huge impact on the lives of people, I aimed at looking for two things. The first was something that can actually affect the lives of people living in third world countries. The world currently goes through enough products to use up about 3-5 Earths, even with all these third world countries being so out of loop of the technological advances that happened in the past two to three centuries. I wanted to be able to find something that can potentially make an important change in the lives of people who were given no say in the situations they were put into. In the article, it is stated that at least 2 billion people have the tendency to “over relieve” themselves while using latrines. Latrines are outhouses or portable restrooms that aren’t disposed of properly. These sources of waste are dumped into bodies of water, or put at treatment facilities that do not dispose of them properly. Now in turn, there are an abundance of areas where families do not have access to any facilities where they can relieve themselves, and due to this must often defecate in the open. These two major problems can often result in the contamination of water that people use as a source of drinking water. Through this process, an abundance of diseases reek havoc in the water. Once the disease is present in the water, it will stunt the physical and mental development of children, if they survive. Media outlets fail to put a strong rally to support these people and most simply do not care. These poverty-strucken people need all the help they can get. Most children are illiterate, with little hope of having a stable educational experience to thrive in. The economies of most third world countries aren’t in tip-top shape either and have to work with what little they have. With that being said, there are a lot of sources of violence and gangs in the area that disrupt any attempt that goes against their ideals. These places often lack the necessary force needed to drive out all these negative sources so that the people can attempt to learn and thrive. And in my opinion that is where the powerhouses like the United States come into play. By supplying these areas with sources of industry, machinery, and labor, these places can begin to thrive little by little. Everything doesn’t happen overnight, but without any change, it will never happen. The Omniprocessor has the capability to intervene and recreate some of these cities, so that it can give hope to thousands of people who lost it a long time
