One thing that makes a great leader is their ability to lead by example. A great leader wouldn't tell his or her team what to do they would show them. A leader that shows by example shows his or her team that they are willing to work and they are not lazy. But, a leader that does no work and does not lead by example is showing their team to be lazy and that not working is okay. A leader that led by example is Martin Luther King. MLK stood for civil rights and was determined to do it peacefully. MLK was arrested multiple times and never once fought back, and in the end his protests were successful. A leader that lies and deceives will lose the trust of their followers. A leader that is honest will gain the trust of their team of followers and will never lose it. However a leader that lies and is caught will immediately lose all of the respect and trust of their followers. A leader that got caught lying and paid the price was Richard Nixon. Nixon was elected president and was trusted by the nation, however Nixon had lied when someone asked if he was involved with a scandal. In the end they discovered that he was indeed involved and was removed from office. A leader that is forced to lead by the truth is a general. If a general is to lie to their troops the troops will most likely revolt against them. But if a general is to tell the truth they will gain the trust of their troops and will likely win the war.
