The factors that led to the revolutions in 1848 were the Liberalists and the Nationalists. Generally liberalists wanted individual rights and an economy without government intervention that would benefit society more and would be better for countries prosperity. Nationalists wanted a nation of people with common cultures and that was it. Both wanted liberty for their people and a sense political and economic equality restored, but the nationalists wanted the government involved while the liberal did not. Both groups had different ideas on how things should be, but overall they had the same motivations for change.
