Macbeth served his country well as he risked his life so that his country could prosper. He may have not actually said that a reward or recognition was necessary but he also wouldn’t deny it if they did. When he was named the Thane of Cawdor, I believe that was enough for him as it showed that his king (Duncan) appreciated him. However, the predictions of the witches led to him becoming greedy and wanting the predictions of the witches to come true. Lady Macbeth was a different story as she already had a greedy and ambitious personality. She most likely would have tried to persuade Macbeth to ask or try and get something of a higher class in which she was also recognized. When Macbeth told her about the witches she saw that as her golden opportunity
