What is means to be my brother’s keeper is you always take care of your brother and never hurt him like what Cain did to Abel in Genesis 4. In the passage, when God asked about Abel, who was killed, Cain responded rudely to God by questioning God was he his Brother Abel’s keeper. In Hebrew, keeper means a master, an overseer, or treating someone like an animal. So in real world, the sentence would be like “Am I my brother’s master?” Because Cain said this, God told Cain that he knew Cain killed Abel and punished him to a land far away. There are many ways to restore the relationship with your siblings. First option is that you can offer compensation to them and make them merry again. Second option is to go to reconciliation every year and confess your sins to the priest. You might think how this can help the relationship with your siblings. This action actually shows your siblings that you really show remorse for what you did to them. This action also helps you to recover from your anguish. However, you must not do the same thing afterwards to your siblings. After you achieve that, you must learn how to protect your siblings from harm.
