What does it mean to be an American? This is a question everyone in the United States should ask themselves from time to time. One needs to ponder on this question and think about the things they have that others may not. Having said this, being an American is having freedom. Being an American is having a choice. Americans need to take everything they have into perspective and think about what all comes with the title “American”.
America is the greatest country on Earth, or at least that is the mindset. Americans enjoy many different privileges that other people in different countries do not have to enjoy. This is very crestfallen in reality. So many people are stripped of their basic human rights, like for instance the people in China are limited as a family to how many children they are allowed to have. Also, in some countries they do not allow their citizens to believe in the religion they want to believe in. This fact is just mind boggling really. Once you have been in the United States and have lived there for a while. It is hard to imagine how life might be in a different place. Imagine being in a place where it is prohibited to go outside and talk about religion to a pal, or even talk about the news to a stranger.
