What It Means To Be A Proud American

What does it mean to be a proud American? To me it means that we can be free and have rights. You can make a decision like where you want to work, live, who you want to marry, etc. It is being proud that you have people who risked their lives for your freedom. So many citizens don’t know or care that there is so many wars and disasters going on in other countries. Being a proud American means that you treat your fellow Americans with respect. It means that you don’t judge people because of their color, religion, or their beliefs. Being an American is being loyal to this country and helping out in any which way you can. Our founding fathers established our constitution, in which we have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and all human beings are created equal.. In other country’s, women are supposed to stay home and cook, clean, and take care of the children. Men, on the other hand, get to go to work, school, and other benefits. Their Government is is more strict than you could imagine. For the U.S., if you kill someone, you could say it was self defence and could plead not guilty. In other countries, killing someone would most likely lead to an execution. Same thing for stealing, you would have less excruciating punishment in the U.S. than in other countries. People think our countries amendments are not fair but personally I am very thankful that our rules are like that. It keeps people safe from other deadly people. If we had less sturdier rules, like I said before, North America would turn into chaos.
I am also proud that I am in America because it is the land of opportunities. That means that I can be a Doctor, and you can be a Fireman, if you wanted to. Other continents, like Germany, usually pick what you are going to be when you are older. Of course, there are some limits. You can’t be a person who does something illegal, behind the NSA’s back. Within reason, this is the most easy-going country when it comes to jobs and such. Any way of life can come to America and create a new life. They can live in prosperity, start a business,
