Edmund Waller once said “To love is to believe, to hope, to know; Tis an essay, a taste of Heaven below!” (Waller) In my Heaven below, I am going to explain what it means to be a profession, Human Resource Sergeant’s role of professionalism, and what it means to be a Human Resource Sergeant in the twenty first century. What it means to be a profession. A profession is a person who earns the trust of their clients such as a recruiter, a chaplain, and human resource sergeants. Recruiters promote incentives, education benefits, and false hopes in order to convince you to join the service. Chaplains will maintain confidentiality when you open up about your personal feelings... until you go over the deep end then a special evaluation should be recommended. Human Resource Sergeants will work with you on birth month audits, medical readiness, and inspire you to put in your promotion packet after you come off the height and weight program, and your flag is lifted. A self-policing ethic in a profession is absolutely a necessity, given that we as professionals come across situations we are not comfortable with or need further assistance from those with more expertise and …show more content…
Shawn Mendes said it best, “There are times when I’m super-overwhelmed, and everything feels like it’s hitting me in the face at once, but I think what’s keeping me calm, and who I am by staying true to myself, is my whole family being so supportive and keeping me grounded. They treat me the exact same way they treated me years and years ago.” (Mendes) Being in the Army for almost 13 years, this quote makes me think of my military family, and having to deal with the daily politics, consistent changes, and constant work over load, it’s my Army family who has been there for me keeping and me
