In this paper I will describe what it is I will do in my profession. This is a profession that has been a long time in the making. When I was young, my passion was anything mechanical. Things such as: building blocks, drawing, sculpting, small engines, vehicle design, etc. It wasn’t until recently that I truly began the quest for my profession. In a year in a half time I hope to land my dream job doing what I love, Engineering. The life of a service, electrical, or program engineer is quite difficult. There are ups and downs of the job, as there are in every job, but this job takes great critical thinking skills, and that is where I will thrive. The reason that I will succeed is because of my attention to detail. In every aspect of my life, …show more content…
Comfortable can mean many different things to many different people. Comfort may mean bright colors, or open space, or maybe even access to a stairway or elevator. There are many other things as well. In order for that person to be fully engaged in his/her work, is to nail the workspace comfort. The most important thing that I believe a good workplace must have is flow. So, for my perfect setting would have a flow that would be second to none. For example, something as small as having every hallway connect. This being, there are many ways to get around, the office can have good flow, and you will not become bored as …show more content…
You will notice as we walk down the hallway, the hallway seems to split off at ninety degrees and links up to another hallway running parallel. And before we get to my office, I want to go over the meeting room. The meeting room is in the middle of the floorplan. The four corners and the halves of each side will provide the main support of the whole entire office. This is a concept that leaves the office floor plan with many more design options. Since virtually the rest of the office can essentially be non-load bearing walls, things can be changed around if need be. The main meeting room will have all sides dressed with glass, no visible studs from the outside and smooth to the touch glass connection. The entryway to the main meeting room will be kiddie corner to the main entry into the office, and soundproof of course. The visitor would start to notice the deep grey trim on the left hand side of the circle of the main office layout. The dark beige wall color we follow up with our eyes to see a recess at the ceiling in the wall, and our eyes will not stop with the exquisite paints on the wall and blooming plants at each corner of the layout. This feature is the modern style lighting effect that is taking our eyes away from that focus point, and points at the beautiful glass-work of the main meeting room.

Room 0742 is a studio design room located in king pavilion at the Iowa State University college of design. In a way it represents the beginning of my journey at Iowa State, for it is the first class room I had ever been in as a student, and its represents hours and hours of hard work and dedication to my major. It is a rather bittersweet place with times where it became a place to put my work on display as well as a place to spend many long nights and very early mornings working and developing. The space itself physically is not a room by traditional means it has no doors and stall like walls that rise above the ground six to eight inches as well as an opening at the top.…
