Life-or-Death Situations Should people in life-or-death situations be accused for their actions they did during these situations? I think people should not be held accountable for their actions because people in these situations just did anything they had to for survival, they either had to do or die. There are many situations where some people have to do bizarre things to live and shoukd not be accused for their actions. For example, in “The Life of Pi” Pi did not want to kill a small fish but he had to because that was the only thing he had to eat also he had to eat so he doesn’t starve to death because he is stranded in the middle of the ocean with a tiger, so either Pi kills the fish to eat it or the tiger eats it and Pi has to wait…

Journal Five: Law and Disorder When it comes the relationship between criminal justice and the people that are caught up in it, lead to undesired consequences. In the book, Mistakes Were Made (but Not by Me) by Carol Tavris and Elliot Aronson, the idea of testilying is seen as a serious problem and that couldn’t be more right. Out of fear, blame is often presented to those who come off as an easy target. Taking the easy way out seems a lot simpler then risking oneself pride and status, and this way creates a multitude of problems. Not only is the blame made off of assumptions and past grudges, but oftentimes the accusations are made from a type of deeply felt resentment that boils below. A common misconception that contributes to this epidemic is that consent is a complicated and confusing issue. There is a thought process that rape is often times a miscommunication and that women do not express themselves in understandable terms (Harding, 2015). The slogan no means no does not cover many instances that are considered rape or fall within the spectrum of sexual assault and that way of thinking needs to end. The new focus is that only a clear, enthusiastic and freely given yes, is consent (Project Respect, 2015). There are however times when consent cannot exist even with a verbal…
