Thank you for responding to my post and for your nice comments. It is very disheartening that this happens in our world but it is a reality and happens more often then we realize. I have witnessed self-neglect quite often in my career and I report when I see it like I am required to do but the sad part is sometimes these people don’t get the help they need right away. Sometimes it is because the system is overtaxed but it can just be that the older individual is not ready to lose their independence yet. The bottom line in all these situations is that it is important to report these cases.
