In this day and age, there have been many advances in society such as having excellent technology. There are so many things that one could do nowadays like go out shopping or watch TV, but the bad things is that every day as technology advances kids are getting lazier and lazier causing them to gain a sufficient amount of weight by not exercising or eating healthy. It is a bad thing that many kids today don’t do much of anything except go to school, eat, and be lazy. This is not good because if they live this unhealthy lifestyle it may lead to complication like high cholesterol ,but mainly this lifestyle can lead to Diabetes type 2. Many people are diagnosed with Type II Diabetes everyday, but it is becoming more common in kids because of …show more content…
Type 2 Diabetes is “a problem with your body that causes blood glucose (sugar) levels to rise higher than normal.”(American Diabetes Association par.1). Type 2 diabetes is the diabetes that is most common in people. Anybody can get type 2 Diabetes but people who are over 45, have family members who have type 2 diabetes, have high blood pressure, and are overweight are more at risk.(WebMD par.6).Since kids are the biggest target of type 2 Diabetes, the biggest cause of type 2 Diabetes in kids is their weight. The majority of kids diagnosed with type 2 Diabetes are overweight. Kids now-a-days are less active than the kids in the past. Many kids just sit in front of the TV eating chips instead of doing active things. Kids living an unhealthy lifestyle is one of the main reasons why many kids are getting Type II …show more content…
Children have to suffer with this disease mainly due because of the unhealthy life style that they had lived before. Diabetes is a serious disease that needs daily care like measuring all the food they are about to eat and injecting/taking oral medication. If not taken care of there will be consequences. “The complications resulting from the disease are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality and are associated with the damage or failure of various organs such as the eyes, kidneys, and nerves.”(American Diabetes Association par.1). If parents do not want their kids to ever get this disease they should help with guiding their children to a healthier lifestyle like making healthier food choices and exercising daily. If children follow these two rules then they will help prevent getting diabetes type 2. If they learn how to live by a healthy lifestyle, they can sure help lower the numbers of the diagnoses of type 2 diabetes in children. It only takes motivation and determination to accomplish great things.
