1. In the past three days, it has been noticed that there was uneasiness and tension in a group of male and female clients of 12-16 age. When workers asked the clients questions respectfully, in order to know what is going on, but the clients have withdrawn and have become confrontational and argumentive. They were also not doing their daily activities and were not even participating in any events. On the last day, there was increased conflict between peers consisting verbal abuse and name calling. Then they found that they do not want to leave their room. Both staff and the residents were getting increasingly frustrated with the stressful situation and fear worst is going to happen. The first thing I will do is that when the staff arrives I will provide them with every detail what is going on here. I will also tell them to take steps cautiously and carefully while assisting the clients to make the environment less chaotic. Hence, take initiatives to prevent the crisis situation for their as well as for others clients safety. We have to listen to the clients carefully and respectfully, giving them choices and remain firm and don’t get manipulated in order to intervene the crisis situation. If the things get out of control, I will need to place buzzers to send a signal if the worker is in the trouble. The easy access to exit doors. For the safety of all, we should check the client’s hands. If the client has anything in their hands, they can throw it on others and hurt them. It is important to be aware of any objects or chemicals that are in the immediate and easy reach of clients so that we can remove them from the crisis situation. Also, it is important to remove the audience from the conflict situation for their safety. Staff and other clients should be aware of escape routes during a crisis situation in order to get out the crisis safely.
