Taxi company Uber has not been on the good side of news lately. It is facing some controversy over its standards. Anybody, regardless of taxi license or not, can be a driver, which begs the question; Is Uber safe? "Well, [Uber] certainly is a lot safer than most cab companies," Rachel Formanek, senior said. The controversial cab company has stated that they, "try to make the best experience for the passenger and the driver in the safest way possible," but many would disagree. "Somebody could get seriously hurt or even killed riding an Uber," Jack Seiler, Mayor of the City Fort Lauderdale, stated in an interview with the Sun Sentinel.
