In the play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, there are certain secondary roles that help to maintain the themes in the story, such as forbidden love and tragedy. Some background, or secondary characters, that help to maintain the themes are Mercutio, Tybalt, and Nurse. However, I believe that Tybalt was one of the most influential characters as to how the story played out and the retention of the theme. He achieved this by his actions, which includes being quick tempered, encouraging the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets, causing a fight in which he is later killed, and the impact his death has on other influential characters.
