What Is Tobacco: Helpful Or Harmful?

Tobacco is a product that may be a blessing, mistreated, or misused which can be a curse. Tobacco has been an agricultural product that has a long line of history including being used in various ceremonies in certain cultures, to some believing it has healing powers, and today being used as a recreational product. The author of this article does not give any qualifications or background about herself to establish those credentials regarding the topic of Tobacco. The only thing we know is that she writes for the Waking Times. I feel like the writer wrote this article to lay the groundwork and promote tobacco again and have readers understand the other importance of tobacco and have her audience not always think about the negative. The author did a great job listing the various uses, some of the methods of usage I did not realize tobacco was used for that specific purpose. From reading this article, it is hard for me to understand why the public go straight into thinking about the negatives when tobacco has so many positives in many parts of the world. Something the article did not mention was some southern states they use tobacco to help reduce the sting after stung by a bumblebee.
The author thinks tobacco most likely gained popularity through nicotine. The next thing that caught my attention was when the author mentioned how tobacco has about the same health affects as caffeine. Anyone can purchase caffeinated drinks but you have to be at least 18 years old in almost every state to purchase tobacco products. Something that the author could have mentioned is look into signs of tobacco withdrawals and maybe compared them to caffeine withdrawals to help support the claim of caffeine having the same health risks as
