My struggle for this class will be reading all of the short stories. Once I read the story, I can very easily put the stories into writing, and give my feelings about the author and what I believe he was feeling when he wrote the story, or the message that he was trying to convey. When I first realize I had a problem in writing, I was writing a community paper, my choice of words in my mind was great, but they were horrible when they were put in writing. I took the community flyer and pass them out in front of a school, and I remember a parent saying to another lady who in the world wrote this? This person right like they’re in the third grade, I was embarrassed and I knew there needed to be some changes in my writing. I stop passing out the flyer and went home. When I completed my English class, I didn’t consider myself to be an award-winning writer, but I knew my work had become legible, understandable and I knew how to construct a sentence. I guess hating English when I was in high school really showed up in my adult life, but now as an adult I find it one of my easiest subjects, because I feel that I’m very creative when it comes to expressing myself, or giving my opinion on stories that I’ve read.
