The first two days
The passengers aboard the RMS Titanic were about 2,223 people who sailed on the maiden voyage. They sailed from Southampton to New York City. With many great deaths that occurred on this “unsinkable ship”, many authors used this event as a background for a great story, but were the details of the event accurately portrayed? When writing Dangerous Waters, it is clear that Gregory Mone did his research and showed the event accurately. The book Dangerous Waters by Gregory Mone was a heart pounding book.…
Later that night an iceberg scrapped the right side of the ship. The titanic sank in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. There were a total of 2228 people on board and a total of 1503 people died in the accident. The next day 300 more bodies were discovered. Paddy Burns a 14 year old stowaway was traveling on the titanic.…
It is Sunday, April 14, 1912, at 11:39 pm. The shout, “ICEBERG RIGHT AHEAD!!!!!!!” is heard. 37 seconds later, the Titanic hits an iceberg and starts to sink. The sinking lost more than half of the ship’s crew and passengers. Of around 2,228 people aboard, 1,503 died and 725 survived.…
On April 15, 1912, one of the worst calamities struck America. The ship that deemed "unsinkable" sank on its maiden voyage from Southampton, UK to New York, US due to scraping an iceberg. Because of this contretemps, 1,517 people, including the crew, captain, and many helpless children, died. Not only was this an example of America's broad and explicit ambitions, but also of how imperfections can be fatal. Unfortunately, there is not merely one person to blame.…
The ship was a whopping 883 feet and that is pretty big and especially for the time period it was built and shown off in the many newspaper articles and the press. But in this article, the author states and shows us the readers the facts and the mysteries that do not add up when the media and the “Titanic’s” engineers could not prove and explain about the ship. The author briefly explains in his article on the differences and the similarities that the Titanic and the Titanic’s sister the “Olympia”. To make one of his many points to prove that the Olympia was used, instead of the Titanic because they did not finish the Titanic on time. Also, the author brings up the point that the Titanic and the Olympia had a different number of portholes.…
Although there were many different factors that played a role into the sinking of the Titanic, the weather played a huge role into it. It was clear with no moon, and the sea was completely calm, making it hard to tell if any danger was ahead (Cummins). After the Titanic had hit the iceberg, only one ship answered its distress signals; the Carpathia, but it unfortunately came when too many people had died and the crew members on the ship were only able to rescue 700 survivors (“Titanic Sinking”). Many people died that horrific night, but it the outcome of deaths would’ve been smaller if the ship would have had enough lifeboats for all of the passengers on board. There wasn’t enough lifeboats on the ship because the company that the Titanic came from; the White Star Line did not want to clutter the deck of the first class (Schama).…
In A Night to Remember, the Titanic was a massive ship by the White Star Line. The ship was intended to carry its 1,316 passengers and 891 crew members to New York. However, at 11:40 the Titanic struck an iceberg and began to sink. By the next morning over 1,500 people had died. The incident is considered to be a huge disaster.…
The hole lower deck was filled with water, at 12:10 a.m., Captain Smith sent a message to the Marconi operators to send out a distress alert, that the Titanic ship was sinking. The very first ship to respond was a German ship a Frankfort, but the message did not get to them in time. All the passengers that was on the Titanic already known what was happening, people started to act crazy 1st they were acting proper , now they were acting like they had no discipline, many people prayed that they would make it to shore alive. Many people were very frightened, to think that they will never make…
Even though people said the Titanic was unsinkable, it still sunk. The Titanic had about 2,208 people on board and 1,503 people died. When the Titanic was sinking 28 people got on a lifeboat and 63 could have fit on. The next morning 300 and more dead bodies were pulled out of the sea the next morning after the titanic sunk. Some people say the captain was turning and accidentally swiped against an iceberg and got hit and some other people say the captain got drunk and wasn't paying attention while turning and crashed.…
Who/What is Responsible for the Titanic Disaster? Do you know who was responsible for the Titanic sinking? Was it the captain, the crew, the passengers, or the look out? Maybe the builders did it. In this essay you will find out Captain Smith was possibly responsible for the sinking of the Titanic.…
The reader 's knowledge of Titanic…
Most inconveniently, the Titanic only had lifeboats for 1,178 of the 2,228 people on board, including the collapsible boats, and many passengers could not get to the lifeboats in time (Spignesi, Stephen J.). One of the first lifeboats to leave the ship only carried 28 passengers, when it was perfectly capable of carrying 64 (“Titanic Facts”). Less than 3 hours later, at 2:20 p.m. (“Titanic sinks”), she sank, pulling over 1,500 people to the ocean floor (Fowler, Dave), including some of the most famous celebrities of that time period (Loohauis-Bennett, Jackie). Sources disagree about the number of survivors brought aboard the RMS Carpathia 4 hours later, but the numbers tend to be in the range of 700 to 900. An eyewitness account describes the event…
A beautiful tragedy… in April of 1912 The Titanic sunk in the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Nobody knew it was going to be some of their last nights with their loved ones, or the last night they would enjoy the company of an acquaintance they may have come across on their trip on the fateful Titanic. “Not Even God himself Could Sink this Ship” says an Employee of the White Star Line. Passengers and crew members, music, and art work all went down and were forever lost that sad, unfortunate night The Titanic sank.…
As we were paddling away, I got my journal and drew a picture of what we were all witnessing. There was still over 15,000 people were still on the sinking ship. Eventually the ship broke in half.…
The Titanic had 2,603 passengers on board. Out of those 2,603 passengers only 705 of them survived. The Titanic had 20 lifeboats and could carry 1,178 out of the 2,603 people that were aboard. III. (Credibility Statement)…
